Man in court on Tranent murder charge

A MAN has appeared in court charged with murder after the discovery of a body in a village.
Colin Armstrong, 49, was found dead at a property in Macmerry, near Tranent in East Lothian, on October 7.
James Keith Caven, 38, was charged with assault, murder and previously showing malice and ill-will when he appeared at Haddington Sheriff Court today.
He also faces a charge under the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010.
He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
