Steve Clarke will name his first Scotland squad in over four months on Tuesday as the national team gear up for the beginning of their Qatar 2022 World Cup qualification campaign.
While there are three big games against Austria, Israel and the Faroe Islands coming up, this squad will also be the last chance for the squad to get together before the European Championships.
With form fluctuating for players in and out of the squad last time round, there have been calls for several uncapped players to be included this time around so Clarke can assess them in person before this summer’s tournament.
Here are seven of those uncapped players (and one fringe player who could also find himself returning to the fold)...
1. Nathan Patterson (Rangers)

2. David Turnbull (Celtic)
The Celtic star has been in better form in 2020/21 than either of his midfield partners, Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor, who'll both likely demand spots in the starting XI for Scotland. Photo: Alan Harvey - SNS Group
3. Ryan Gauld (Farense)

4. Kevin Nisbet (Hibs)
Buzz around the Easter Road striker has quieted with just two goals in 2021 so far. However, he climbed off the bench to score the winner against Ross County at the weekend and may soon return to top form. Photo: Ross Parker - SNS Group
