NOT so much hot, hype-fuelled young things as a band who are building critical acclaim and word-of-mouth success by degrees, Best Coast – aka 23-year-old Los Angeles singer-songwriter Bethany Consetino and her musical collaborator Bobb Bruno – are that rare thing, a band who blend their influences into something new.

In Consetino's sweet, open holler and the chiming guitar grind of standouts like the title track, Summer Mood and the Be My Baby stomp of Our Deal, it's possible to hear The Ronettes, Hole and Throwing Muses fused into one unlikely whole.
