March 'encouraging' for Scots economy
SCOTLAND'S economic output grew by 1.2 per cent year-on-year in February to £7.32 billion, according to estimates from Inverness-based economist Tony Mackay.
The rise also marked a bounce-back from the winter's heavy snow, with Mackay estimating that gross domestic product shrunk from 6.34bn in December to 6.29bn in January. Mackay said March had been an "encouraging month".
