Rangers fans get match ban ahead of trial

THREE Rangers fans accused of sectarian breach of the peace during the club’s match at Dunfermline at the weekend have been banned from attending any professional football match in Scotland while they wait for trial.

Brian Gilmour and Stuart Robertson, both 21, and Derek Johnston, 19, all pleaded not guilty at Dunfermline Sheriff Court yesterday to shouting and swearing and uttering religious abuse during the game at Dunfermline’s East End Park on Saturday.

Gilmour, a bus company parts man, of Burnbury, East Kilbride; Johnston, a mechanical engineer, of Bonnyhome Avenue, Glasgow; and Robertson, an industrial estate worker, of Marsh Place, Port Letham, Aberdeenshire, appeared from custody.
