F1 car to give jeweller a lift

THE glamour of Formula 1 will come to the Capital this week when one of the cars used in the sport will make a pit stop - on a city centre roof.

The car, which belongs to Lotus Renault, will be lifted on to the roof of Laing the Jeweller in Frederick Street using a crane.

Michael Laing, managing director of Laing the Jeweller, said: "From Jackie Stewart and Jim Clark to David Coulthard and Paul di Resta, there is no escaping the fact that Scots have racing in their blood.

"When we considered the different ways in which we could display the Lotus Renault Formula 1 car, we decided on the rooftop setting as an innovative way to showcase such an iconic car."
