Police find stolen car and ammo

A STOLEN car which had shotgun cartridges and hunting gear in it has been found by police.

The silver Mercedes C-Class 220 Sport was stolen from a business property on North Leith Sands on Monday.

Officers recovered the car and ammunition on Thursday night in Bonnington Place, off Anderson Place.

Detectives are still trying to trace a man who was acting suspiciously in the area of North Leith Sands prior to the theft, and are urging anyone who may have seen him to come forward.

He is described as white, between 24 and 30, between 5ft 4ins and 5ft 6ins tall with a thin build, short black hair and thin pale face.

A police spokesman said: "We are obviously relieved that the car and the ammunition have been fully recovered but officers are still keen to speak with anyone who can assist us in identifying the suspect."
