Student welcomes hospitality accolade

A STUDENT has received a special recognition award for his achievements on a hospitality course.

Bangladeshi Omar Ismail who studies at Telford College, won the James Thomson Award after he demonstrated enthusiasm and passion in the hospitality industry. The 25-year-old scooped the accolade as a result of work experience he undertook at the Capital's Balmoral Hotel.

He was praised for his work ethic, conscientious approach and desire to learn all he could about the hospitality industry.

He has now been offered a full-time position at the Balmoral.

He said: "My goal three years ago before starting my course was to work in a leading hotel in Scotland and progress myself in the field of hospitality and make my father proud."
