Kelso Thistle 1 Hawick Legion 4

TWO goals from super-sub Steven Aries helped guide Legion into the third round of the South of Scotland Cup.
Coming out of the blocks well, Legion soared into the lead thanks to a Steven Lamb strike.

The visitors took their foot off the gas after this and Thistle drew level before the break.

With Simon Philbin, Callum Hope and Lamb all impressing, Legion started to get the upper hand again in the second half and regained their lead when Lamb found the net with a header.

Substitute Aries, who had only been on the park a matter of seconds, then put Kelso further into arrears with his first touch of the ball, shooting home during a goalmouth scramble.

And he took the final sting out of Thistle by running in to round the home keeper and tuck away a shot from a difficult angle.
