HAWICK Shamrocks made it two-in-a-row at the D V Walker and Jim "Crawley" Williamson memorial sixes.
Gordon Solley from the Buccleuch team contests this aerial challenge

Fine we
ather greeted the players from all over Hawick, with teams from a variety of pubs and clubs as well as local football teams themselves taking part at Albert Park.

Callaghan's Bar paraded two good teams with many local veterans amongst them whilst the youthful look of both of the Hawick United teams balanced up the age range.

The local Rangers Supporters Club fought well in memory of Davie and narrowly failed to qualify for the later group stages as did the Stags Head, while Buccleuch Red Star and Hawick Rugby Club both scraped through (with a little athleticism) to the knockout rounds.

Ultimately it came down to the same pairing as last year's final, but the Station, were pipped 4-1 by last year's champions Hawick Shamrock Celtic Supporters Club.

Co-organiser Rory Bannerman said: "Over £200 was raised for Cancer Research Scotland in memory of these two football greats and everybody is already looking forward to next year's competition which will become bigger and better and might even attract teams from outside Hawick."
