Andrew Halliday Boro link dismissed by Livingston boss Gary Bollan

LIVINGSTON boss Gary Bollan has given little credence to a report linking teenager Andrew Halliday with a move to Gordon Strachan's Middlesbrough.

Reports suggested Strachan was ready to offer Livi 50,000 to take Halliday on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent arrangement.

Bollan said: "I saw the article and I don't think it's worth comment. It's speculation, there was no comment from Gordon Strachan or Middlesbrough."

Livi's former manager Mark Proctor is working at Middlesbrough as a coach and Halliday, scorer of 11 goals this term, has also attracted scouts from the Barclays Premier League as well as the Old Firm.

Tomorrow's Third Division fixture at Almondvale is almost certain to become another victim of the weather, according to Bollan.

The Lions are scheduled to face Albion Rovers but there is little chance of that happening as the Almondvale pitch is still under two inches of snow meaning a third postponed match in seven days following Tuesday's cancellation at Berwick and last Saturday's postponed home game with Montrose.

Bollan said: "I'd say it was virtually a certainty to be called off."

Livingston's lead at the top of the table was strengthened last week without them kicking a ball as second-placed East Stirling lost 1-0 at Annan, but the fixture backlog is causing a real headache and Bollan added: "It's very frustrating, this season has been stop-start and makes it very difficult."

• The new date for the away trip to Berwick is Tuesday, 30 March.

• WEST LOTHIAN maintenance services company Alpha Plus have agreed to sponsor the North Stand at Almondvale until the end of the 2010-11 season.
