Kenny Miller could make Rangers return

Miller, 33, is currently playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps in Major League Soccer, and is believed to be on a list of transfer targets drawn up by manager Ally McCoist. According to The Sun, a deal to bring the former Celtic and Hibernian striker to Glasgow could be concluded by Thursday.

Rangers’ registration ban ends in September, and the club have already been active in the transfer market. In addition to Miller, Rangers have also been linked with Dundee United striker Jon Daly, and are set to confirm the signing of Queen of the South forward Nicky Clark later today. Clark has scored 41 goals this season, and was voted Division Two’s player of the season.

Last month, reports emerged that then-chief executive Charles Green would block any move for the former Scotland captain, with the player’s high wages and lack of resale value running contrary to the club’s transfer plans. Green has since been removed from his post after using racist language to describe a fellow board member.

Miller has since been revealed to be one of MLS’ highest-paid players, making over $1 million for his role in Vancouver this season. Miller has scored twice this season for the Whitecaps, although he has appeared in just three games.
